On-Line Registry of Tsawwassen Laws & Regulations

Welcome to the on-line Registry of Laws of Tsawwassen First Nation.  You will see a list of links below.  Each link proceeds to a page where you will find a description of the Law, a link to the Law itself, and links to any Regulations that have been passed under the authority of that Law.

Tsawwassen Laws are derived from the self-governing authority of Tsawwassen First Nation.  On April 3rd, 2009, Tsawwassen First Nation became self-governing with the Constitutional authority to make laws.  Laws are passed by the Tsawwassen Legislature, the highest governing body of Tsawwassen First Nation.  Regulations are passed by the Executive Council, a smaller group made up of members of the Legislature, and are made under the specific delegated authority of a Tsawwassen Law.  Important Orders of the Executive Council are also posted on this site.  Until the next election the TFN Chief and Council will serve as both the Legislature and Executive council as a transitional government.

This site is not the Official Registry of Tsawwassen Laws, and in the event of a discrepancy between the on-line Registry and the Official Registry, the Official Registry will prevail.  The Official Registry is kept in hard copy at the Tsawwassen First Nation Administration Office, and can be accessed by request.  However, best efforts are made to keep the on-line Registry current with the Official Registry version.

These laws are current as of January 10, 2011.
