TFN established a Natural Resources department and an Environment department in 2008. The Natural Resources Manager will continue to undertake past natural resources functions, in particular fisheries, as well as the additional responsibilities that come with the Treaty.

The Environment program handles requests for referrals from other governments and industry. This program also assists with the negotiation of Impact Benefit Agreements and. Staff assists with representing the interests of Tsawwassen First Nation by participating in Environmental Assessments and other regulatory processes.
